- First of all wash and peel the potatoes. Diced the potatoes in to quarters. Prepare the drumsticks. As shown in the pic below. Snap in halves and get 8 little sticks out of 2 drumstick.
- In pressure cooker, heat up 2 tbsp oil. Once heated up, add bay leaves, cardamoms, cumin seeds, whole dry red chillies and black peppercorn. Cook until aromatic.
- Add potatoes, chopped ginger and drumsticks. Cook until potatoes are soft (80%cooked).
- Add garam masala, turmeric, sambar masala and salt. Cook it for further 5 mins.
- Add washed Basmati Rice and water. Cover it with the lid until you hear 2 whistles.
- If you don’t have the pressure cooker. Use any other pots. Making sure you double the quantity of water. If it’s one cup of rice, you will 2 cups of water in the pot.
- Once done, serve it into the bowl with some salad.
