Before you jump to Swedish Meatballs recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about The Simple Ways to Be Healthy.

We all realize that, in order to really be healthy, nutritious and balanced meal plans are important as are good amounts of exercise. The unfortunate thing is that, at the end of the day, we don’t always have enough time or energy required for a healthy lifestyle. Working out at the gym isn’t something people want to do when they get off from work. A juicy, grease laden burger is usually our food of choice and not a leafy green salad (unless we are vegetarians). The good news is that making healthy decisions doesn’t have to be a chore. If you are diligent you’ll get all of the activity and healthy food choices you need. Here are some ideas to be as healthy as possible.

Take the stairs. Rather than riding an elevator, walk up the stairs to the floor you live or work on. Obviously this isn’t as possible if you work on the 25th floor of a high rise, but if you work on the fourth, climbing the stairs is a great way to get some exercise in. Even if you do live or work on one of the higher floors, you can still get off of the elevator early and climb up the stairs the rest of the way. Most people will choose to be sluggish and take an elevator instead of opting for exercise on the stairs. That just one flight of stairs—when taken a handful of times a day—can be just the additional boost that your system needs.

There are a whole lot of things that factor into getting healthy. Not all of them require fancy gym memberships or restricted diets. Little things, when done every day, can do plenty to help you get healthy and lose pounds. Being smart about the choices you make each day is a start. Getting as much physical exercise as you possibly can is another factor. Don’t forget that health isn’t only about simply how much you weigh. You need your body to be powerful too.

Instructions to make Swedish Meatballs:
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, egg, nutmeg, allspice, salt, pepper and parsley until fully incorporated. Roll the mixture into equal sized balls.
  2. In a large, deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs to the skillet in batches. Roll them around with a wooden spoon every couple of minutes to evenly brown the outside while they cook through. Once they're done, remove them to a towel lined plate and tent some foil over them. Set them aside.
  3. Drain any excess fat from the skillet, but leave any charred bits that are in there from the meatballs. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the 3 tbsp of butter. Once it's melted, whisk in the flour and cook while whisking for a minute or so. Then slowly add in the broth while whisking until it's all incorporated and smooth. Whisk in the Worcestershire, Dijon and seasonings and let this come to a simmer.
  4. Let it simmer until it thickens, stirring occasionally, then whisk in the sour cream. Add the meatballs back to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, until everything is heated through. Serve immediately (We just usually toss it in with egg noodles, then serve).
